Electify MicroGrid is dedicated to accelerating rural electrification across Nigeria through the development and deployment of advanced mini-grid systems.

By leveraging renewable energy sources, primarily solar, Electify provides reliable, clean, and affordable electricity to off-grid and underserved communities, fostering economic development and improving quality of life.

Millions of people in rural Nigeria lack access to reliable electricity, relying instead on expensive and polluting alternatives like kerosene lamps and diesel generators.

This energy poverty stifles economic growth, limits educational opportunities, and poses significant health risks. Extending the national grid to these remote areas is often economically unfeasible due to high infrastructure costs and low population density.

Electify MicroGrid addresses this challenge by designing, building, and operating decentralized solar hybrid mini-grids tailored to the specific needs of rural communities.

These systems combine solar panels, battery storage, and smart metering technology to ensure a continuous and reliable power supply.

The project also involves community engagement and capacity building to ensure local ownership and long-term sustainability of the mini-grid infrastructure. We implemented a tiered tariff structure to ensure affordability for the lowest-income households while maintaining commercial viability for the project.
